I have enjoyed drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. As a portrait artist I find the human face to be a fascinating and beautiful landscape of lines, and shapes and expressions. It can set a mood and tell a story about life, or about any one moment.
I began drawing realistic pencil portraits 20 years ago. I am mostly self taught and work from photographs. My commissioned portraits are of people of all ages (and a few dogs!) and are in homes from Plattsburgh to Florida.
Since moving from New Jersey to the Catskills 8 years ago, I have enjoyed having more time to do art. Although I continue to focus on portraits, my participation in the East Branch Delaware River Plein Air Painters group has renewed my interest in drawing and painting more traditional outdoor landscapes in the beautiful Catskill Mountains.
