A lifetime painter and draftsman since I climbed up on a chair at the age of two to watch my mother painting a deer jumping out of some brush in the desert. (That painting hangs in my living room. Despite taking only one art class in college (where they tried to persuade me to change my major to art), I persisted in my original career path to law and finance. However, I began painting and drawing at the Art Students League in Manhattan evenings after work, and finally realized that's where my true love lies. Despite its smaller size, the Catskills has a surprising abundance of interesting landscapes and people as subject matter.
Directions
Deer Dell Road (private) is the first left hand turn off Hwy 28 just past the Hwy 6 (New Kingston) turnoff headed from Margaretville toward Andes. (almost exactly halfway between the two towns. My house is the first house (red) on the left, about 75 yards up Deer Dell Road and the first left at the T intersection at the top of the hill. (Ignore the fire sign and road immediately on the left as you head up Deer Dell. That's a service road and more difficult for parking and two way traffic.)
