Along with the 40 artists and 5 galleries on 2025’s Open Studio Tour, there will once again be a Student Showcase. This effort to include local high school artists, spearheaded by AMR Exec. Dir. Rebecca Andre and President Deborah Ruggerio, a retired art teacher, began in 2023 and has become a beloved addition to the tour. This year’s project features photography students from Margaretville Central School, let by their inspiring teacher, Michele Dietz.

The class choose the theme ‘Vintage Catskills Charm.’ 15 pieces of thier work will be professionally displayed on a wall inside Longyear Gallery, also a non-profit local arts organization, during the Open Studios Tour as well as the entire month of July, beginning with Longyear’s own Opening Reception on Saturday, July 5 from 3 – 5pm. This event is also free and open to all.
