Suzanne Ausnit
Painting
I work primarily in watercolor, drawing my inspiration from the natural world - both in landscapes and still lives - expressed through strong images that move me emotionally. I am also drawn towards depictions of the human figure as a way of exploring ambiguous emotional states. In addition, this year I've been working on a series of emotional portraits of my mother as she battled with dementia, expressing fear, anger, sadness and emptiness.
